Captain America - Stars and Stripes by Cortana2552 Captain America - Stars and Stripes by Cortana2552
I am so very proud of both of these costumes, I worked tirelessly to make each costume from head to toe. Both costumes are made out of dance wear spandex and this was my first time sewing spandex for someone other than myself...and my first time sewing it for a guy. I used store bought patterns for the pants and drafted patterns for the tops based on existing costume pieces that I had. For Trevor's costume we decided to go with the textured default Cap look and my costume is based on an original design styled after a look from Ghost in the Shell. The stars on the chest as well as the "A" on Trevor's cowl are satin stitched duck cloth that I glued onto the fabric.

The red and white striped fabric was purchased online from Spandex House, my gloves are from an eBay shop as is the helmet that I spray painted and added the "A". Trevor's shield was a Christmas present from a friend and my shield was made out of wood with help from Trevor's Dad.

Wow! These are great! Your costume with the shield is the icing on the cake!
I have a huge growing interest in wanting to start making my own costumes so it really helps that you include the materials and process in your description.
ERMURICA!

Thank you so much! Sometimes it's hard to put the process into words but as long as I can help one person than it's worth it :D
