I always love dressing up and being in costume, but when you combine that with being at Disney World - then I am just in heaven
This costume was on my list for a while and once I made plans to attend Disney for Halloween I knew it was time to make it happen.
Costume write up!
I always knew when I made this costume I would use velvet, you can tell by the in game texture that the fabric is NOT satin. Sometimes you can take artistic liberties, but I wanted to stay accurate to the game and the time period with this costume. I searched around online and found the perfect shade of blue velvet
and made my purchase on eBay. I used Simplicity pattern 2953 to make the skirt, I did a hand gather on the side instead of cutting the fabric to be asymmetrical. For the bolero I used Simplicity 0788, I had to alter this pattern a bit on the collar and sleeves but it was an easy alteration. Corsets scare me so I opted to buy one on Amazon
and alter it, I hand sewed on the lace and all of the black ribbon. It ended up being a little too big on me so I added side darts so that it would be more form fitting.
